Fleet Management’s NOVA platform is designed to drive data-based decision-making across the organisation. As part of thebroader PARIS ecosystem, NOVA leverages cutting-edge dataarchitecture, including data lakes and warehouses, to processinformation from multiple internal and external sources. Thisadvanced system enables Fleet to detect patterns and trends that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency across its fleet of vessels.
NOVA features NOVA Navigation, which integrates with the Wartsila FOS platform to optimise vessel routes and support precise voyage planning. By combining data from various touch points, NOVA offers unparalleled access to real-time insights, helping Fleet's internal staff and vessel owners alike make informed decisions. A key feature of NOVA is its KPI Scorecard, which provides a complete snapshot of more than 20 in-house-developed dashboards covering areas such as Safety, Vessel Performance, Emissions, Procurement, and Finance.
With machine learning capabilities embedded into several dashboards, NOVA allows users to engage in predictive analysis. For example, the platform’s Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) dashboard uses historical fleet data to forecast outcomes under various conditions, enabling proactive decision-making to mitigate potential risks and support Fleet’s decarbonisation initiatives.
Fleet’s commitment to continuous improvement is further exemplified by its collaboration with City University in Hong Kong, where more than 12 data science interns have contributed to NOVA’s development. This internship programme reflects Fleet's dedication to cultivating talent and advancing the platform's future capabilities.
