Kannan Soundararajan is a seasoned maritime professional with extensive expertise across various vessel categories, including crude and petroleum tankers, chemical tankers, ethylene carriers, bulk carriers, and containers.

As Executive Director Technical for the global dry fleet, Kannan leads operational strategies for over 425 vessels across five countries. His leadership has been instrumental in implementing best practices, conducting audits, and making strategic decisions that have elevated Fleet’s management standards.

‍

Before joining Fleet, Kannan held significant roles in technical management and crewing, where he influenced both operational and business development initiatives. He holds a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering from the Marine Engineering College (DMET) Kolkata, now recognised as IMU, and has furthered his expertise through various professional courses, including an Executive Programme in Management from Columbia University.

Kannan has played a pivotal role in shaping both the Wet and Dry departments within Fleet, leading innovative projects such as the development of the vessel inspection software, VIR. His contributions have been critical to the digital advancement of Fleet’s operations.

Outside of the office, Kannan has a keen interest in chess and classical music.
