Ajit Balwant Natu is Director of Tanker Operations for Fleet, where he oversees the safe and efficient cargo operations of all tankers under management. He joined Fleet's shore organisation in 2008, initially working in the Quality and Safety department. With over two decades in the maritime industry, Ajit has extensive experience, particularly with parcel chemical tankers. In 2013, he was seconded to Singapore to support the QHSE function of the company’s joint venture (DSMPL). Returning to Hong Kong in 2014, he assumed his current role, leading a team that provides centralised marine support, monitors cargo operations, and ensures compliance with industry standards.

Before joining Fleet, Ajit’s seafaring career included serving as a ship’s Captain on several parcel chemical tankers. He holds a degree in Nautical Science from Blackpool and Fylde College. Ajit has been an active member of the CDI Technical Committee since 2015 and participates in the Chemical Technical Committee of INTERTANKO. His industry contributions include participating in the development of key safety guides.
