DRILL DRILL DRILL - NORD VALKYRIE (IMO Number – 9893773)
Fleet Management Limited, the manager of the tanker MT NORD VALKYRIE (IMO Number – 9893773), reports water ingress in the ship’s engine room whilst on passage from Singapore to Rotterdam. The incident occurred at approximately 1715 HRS HKT on 12th April 2024. The ship is currently located South of Sri Lanka, approximately 500 nautical miles from land. There has been no pollution or damage to the cargo reported and the situation is being closely monitored. We are happy to report that the crew have arrested the leak, and the ship is now operating on emergency power. The vessel is awaiting a tug which will tow it to the port of Galle in Sri Lanka. There are no injuries to report, and all other crew members are accounted for and safe. The manager has informed all the relevant authorities and is in continuous contact with the MRCC.
